From the Desk of Superintendent Lee Coker:

A change is on the horizon in education.  Oklahoma has joined numerous other states in adopting a "Core Curriculum".  This curriculum will be the basis by which our students will be tested.  Teacher evaluations will be partially based on how their students perform on these standardized tests.  This will mark the first time that a majority of states will be aiming at a common set of standards in educating our students.  States will be able to compare test scores in an "apples to apples" scenario.  Any time change is approaching, it is a little scary.  Our teachers have already begun to receive training on the common core and will continue to learn more as implementation day gets closer.  We look forward to being prepared for this new era in education.  Your children will ultimately be the ones who benefit.
